At 5:14 this evening, the local residents in the townhouses of Windsor Woods were evacuated.
Due to a house that caught on fire.

HDG: *ahem.....* I was in my room and I heard rumbling, okay.... I think thats the garbage truck.....
I heard shouting..... and the noise is still going....
I lay there in my bed for about 5 minutes until I had enough of the noise
I peek through my blinds and see a firefighter on a cherrypicker, or aka tower 1331, extending towards my window, or to what it appeared.
As I opened it up further, I soon realize that it's not my house that's on fire, but my dear neighbor's......
I panic and shout down the stairs
"MOM! THERE'S A FIRE!"
I rush down stares as quick as I can, throw on my Varsitey jacket from my school, boots, scarf, gloves and a hat, and rush outside.....
The neighbors had already evacuated and are standing on our drive way, I rush over to make sure everyone's alright.... the 10 year old kid and his father are alright....
Good....
Then I begin to panic, my mom's friend is standing outside, with out her baby and child.....
I yell across the front as they tore down the wall...
Smoke had engulfed the whole back corner of the house and the firefighters had opened up the windows and began to tear down even more of the wall.
I run over to my neighbor and ask if she's alright, she comes out with her baby, daughter, husband, and dog. She told me that they were staying a a friends house four houses down.
I told her if she needed anything, call us... They left....
We offered the boy and his dad to come in and stay warm, but they refused....
it wasn't until 2 hours later, they finally put out the fire and are now boarding up the back of the house they tore down.....


Most of the damage was due to the cold weather, but there was segnificant smoke, water, and fire damage to the house...
Since I live right next to the house I had a front, warm row seat to the action...
and all the noise too.... *i'm not going to be able to sleep tonight.... i couldn't even get out in time for Karate class... and i was teaching tonight!*
I really feel bad for the boy, he had school in the morning and what's he going to say to his teacher..... 'My house caught on fire'?
